Wr have quite a few unfilled vacancies across the system right now that would go to new hires, this new vacancy is for the assumption that international capacity will be closer to 2019 levels in 2022.

Winter 2021/22 start for new hires is my guess to cover 2022 summer schedule

Get quality people by casting a wide net. Attract them, vet them, train them wherever they come from through programs like AVIATE or our RJ feed, military, etc, but stop pretending the old way that produced pictures of newhire or graduation photos from **any desirable profession from the mid 20th century** of a group of 99% white guys (docs, lawyers, pilots, professors, etc, etc) was ever a good thing.
That said I think UAL is presently doing better in this aspect than most and I have not heard of newhire quality/competence issues from the line. We're hiring darn good people from all corners.

Ugh, find another place for that discussion. Seriously. Not even remotely a conversation that's going to be constructive in this sort of forum. Let's just get back to pure nepotism because that's always going to find the best candidate. One way or another if all we attract is pasty white guys (present company included) with a pile of LORs from their squadron buddy system or RJ cadre, we've got a real problem.
