El Paso, Texas, Calls in Ten Morgue Trucks as Coronavirus Cases Surge
(REUTERS) - OFFICIALS in the county of El Paso, Texas, said on Monday they are bringing in 10 temporary refrigerated morgue trailers to contend with one of the worst surges in coronavirus in the United States.Six morgue trailers had already been deployed as of Monday, according to County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, the most senior government executive in the county, which borders on Mexico. Four more have been requested from the Federal Emergency
Management Agency to be sent to local funeral homes as demand dictates, Samaniego said during a meeting of county commissioners.
Texas became the first U.S. state to surpass a million cumulative coronavirus cases on Saturday and currently accounts for over 10% of total cases in the country, which is contending with the deadliest outbreak in the world.
Last month, Samaniego issued emergency shutdown and stay-at-home orders in the hopes of containing the El Paso surge. It was meant to expire on Wednesday, but Samaniego said he was considering extending it.
"As a community we need to come together and decide as fellow El Pasoans, as part of this region, to make a determination for what El Paso needs at this time," he said at the meeting. "I need to repeat and emphasize that a temporary order would be very effective so that we don't have long-term impact on our economy."
In the city of El Paso, home to about 680,000 people, there have been 673 COVID-19 deaths so far, including an additional seven deaths reported on Monday. More than 1,000 people were hospitalized with the illness, including 304 people in intensive care units.
The number of coronavirus patients in hospitals nationwide breached 56,000 on Sunday, the highest since July 23. The figure is close to all-time record of 58,370 hospitalizations set on July 22.

- The Texas county of El Paso recently doubled the number of mobile morgues it has on hand to process coronavirus deaths.
- The county — which has the second-highest number of active cases in Texas — now has 10 mobile morgues.
- Texas has recorded the most coronavirus cases in the US, recently becoming the first state to surpass 1 million.
- The local news station KFOX reported that coronavirus patients were dying at such a rate in El Paso that medical examiners hadn't been able to keep up with the workload.
As of Wednesday, El Paso County had more than 28,000 active coronavirus cases, making it the second-most-infected county in the state, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Harris County, where Houston is located, has the most active coronavirus infections, the agency said.
Coronavirus patients are dying at such a rate in El Paso that medical examiners haven't been able to keep up with the workload, the local news station KFOX reported.
According to KFOX, the county set up its third and fourth mobile morgue units a little more than a week ago when it was dealing with a backlog of 85 bodies.Since then, it has received 93 more bodies, prompting county officials to more than double their mobile morgue units to a total of 10, KFOX reported. Mobile morgues are typically refrigerated trucks or trailers that are cool enough to store bodies.
The top county official, County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, ordered a two-week lockdown on October 29, when hospitalizations were already over 100% capacity, according to KFOX.But hospitalizations and intensive-care-unit admissions have continued increasing even since then.
The lockdown is due to expire Wednesday, but Samaniego told KFOX on Monday that he was likely to extend the order."The hospitals are still not manageable. We're having an inability to manage fatalities," he said. "It leaves me no choice but to lean towards an extension of the order."

There already are required vaccinations—yellow fever being the most common, but Hep A and tetanus, are pretty much standard for international travel. How is it you’ve never taken a vaccination?
Everyone one in my pilot circle have been vaccinated or plan to when it’s available.

In reference to the “vaccine”, I’m just going to refer you to Dr Ryan Cole. Do a little research and watch some of his videos. Here’s one: https://youtu.be/tgCL4abBFzc

Nor have I.
That being said... once I moved from the “ball park” side of eating hotdogs, to the hot dog factory, I realized that the coordination happens before you ever got there. They knew you were vaccinated against xyz days or weeks in advance. I imagine UAL is doing the same thing.

One time visiting Tanzania going to somewhere that reauires YF vaccine (20-50% death rate) is hardly a vaccine passport to travel to every country in the world. Especially since the C19 vaccine doesn't keep you from getting or spreading the virus.
