The problem with using sweeping generalizations for large groups is that they are usually wrong (often times funny but wrong.) Our average new hire has historically been around 40 with 8000 hrs or a 20 yr military retiree. Solidly not millenial or of a certain "generation". We were poised to furlough 6 yr people and even some from the left seat. I wouldn't be so quick to say they haven't paid their "dues" but don't let me stop a good outburst. It is almost as insulting as referring to the bottom third of an airline as chaff or cannon fodder. You can perceive the LOA anyway you want but you are in the minority with your views. Your "give" to the bottom third kept the remainder of our pilots from playing the seat/airplane shuffle, allowed many to retire early with those that remained a higher seniority, allowed many to pursue outside work, and presented the least upset to a majority of our pilots homelife... to twist this into the bottom third "who haven't paid their dues" owing you their job is some egomaniac type filtering of information.
