Hey! Airaware! Welcome to the conversation. Please, tell me why I was supposed to thank you for anything. This LOA has fractured the group. There were reasons to vote for and reasons against. In my view, and in the view of 40+ percent of the group it was a substandard deal. So we voted our opinion just as you did. Do your give your no-voting Captains this type of crap when you go to work each trip? 40+ percent of them did. Do you whine that some guys are getting Captains pay in the right seat? And that with super seniority they can carpet bomb their base's open time? That the deal included early out was a no-brainer.

How I managed my money up till now is none of your business. As a result, I can live on 50. But, I would have rather stuck around and lived-large on 80. The childish bleating you keep directing at me is really getting old. Perhaps you should be thanking the EOs who left early so that you could advance early! And perhaps you could question why our EO deal was less than other airlines. After all, if it were better, more guys would have left. That ever cross your mind? Nah. Didn't think so.

Seniority used to mean something. That the union pitched it in the gutter is the primary reason I voted no. In my view, your "pilot unity" comment shows how little you know, or care about actual pilot unity. I have never seen a more divided pilot group in my career. In balance, we could have and should have done better.

Really? Coming from the generation that acts like everything is owed to them even "Thank you"s. Yes, some people.

I really hope he doesn't, I would think our hiring board would do better. Perhaps Mother Goose could post a thank you to the top two thirds who are subsidizing his undeserved salary.

Not directed at anyone but I am actually disappointed by some of the more senior people on our other forums and here. A lot of experience and wisdom but all we got in the lead up to the LOA vote was the crazy rable rousers going off about conspiracy theories. For every one sensible argument there were 5 based in fairy tale land. Even before the language of the TA was known the "wisdom" on the other forum was spouting off left and right about what they knew to be fact. One of them kept it up throughout the vote only to ask a question about what happens to the TA after government aid ... yup he never read the TA. Multiple solid yes/no votes I have flown with had pretty strong opinions but no working knowledge of what was actually in the TA. What are you pontificating about in every thread if you haven't read the TA? I just don't get it.

All those people that got kicked off the forum got kicked off because they weren't contributing anything of value. They wanted to railroad the conversation with their own fantasy. They still believe that their wisdom and insight was imperative to spew anywhere they could when they should have been the one listening. I hope the next time we are tested as a group we can have a more constructive conversation.

Again not directed at Dave or mako

I’m a junior guy and while I voted yes, I completely understand why people voted no. These guys have been burned so many times and have the experience to know that something well intentioned, such as this LOA could be turned against us somehow. It’s also not their job to subsidize our income. Every single one of us should have known what the risks were when we were hired. While I am thankful the LOA passed, everyone had a right to vote what was best for them.

live been here off/on for coming on 21 years... furloughed twice. The TA was the best deal we have passed in along time... saved pilots from furlough for very little cost with the govt cheese kicking in... no regrets.

I second this. Had I been senior I likely would have been a no vote. I can’t imagine how ****d off I’d be if I had to give up 20hrs+ pay a month when you’re planning your final years into retirement. Especially considering these pilots built UAL into the best form it’s ever known. I can say I respect everyone for how they vote and I am great full to have a job flying right now. I’ve not seen bad blood on the line as it should be.

Mako fishing to me is not a group sport but I’d make an exception with yours.
