I’m not sure where you stand in system seniority, but if you’re in the bottom 5000ish, you’d probably be unemployed. If you’re above that line, then you might be commuting to a narrow body FO position on reserve.
Uh yea 5000...that's the ticket!

It seems like there is a big spool up going on at C5 and the Aviate program. I’ve also heard that on United’s 787 there are about 400 folks retiring in April and that retirement are still happening at a good pace airline wide. These factors will help with the staffing situation

Far enough down on the list I don’t keep exact tabs on everyone, but iirc isn’t that when the early outs from the 787 leave? Also don’t believe that would be 400, but more than a typical month.

yes there are about 70 pilots that were taking the early out leaving in April. I believe that was because the company needed them for 787 staffing. As for the 767-400 the rumor grows louder every day. Let’s hope so....

Im wondering the same as it hasn’t been discussed here. Probably just saw the number 400 being used and triggered the comment. If I was a betting man, the 767-400’s coming out of storage to replace the A/B model 777’s that are grounded.

I like that rumor. That plus buy Delta’s 400s ... what engines are on Delta’s 767-400s?

Only downside for this idea is many of the 400’s we have will be needing a significant landing gear overhaul from what I was told last year when I ferried one into SFO for the overhaul.

Someone far more familiar with this probably can expand on the details for how many birds need the overhaul and how soon they’d need to hit the hanger. Might not make sense to pull from storage only to have to send them for a big overhaul in the near future.
