To be honest, everyone of us has been on other people’s (the taxpayers) money for some time now, and we’re collectively working to get more.
Your self-reliance is applauded. But just as I stated to the Captains, insulting your fellow bottom-thirders is probably not the best solution. If berated, they’ll probably just double-down and we’ll miss a learning opportunity.
It’s always easy to blame the least of us for our problems...I am very uncomfortable with this TA, but the bottom-third have neither the ways or means to be the genesis of this.
It was packaged as a deal they couldn’t refuse.

Grumble,
Congratulations on going to work? Please elaborate on the job you secured yourself for the next few years. I have been hard at work finding a job and have not heard anything from over one hundred applications. I am sad you voted no. Also, all in my new hire class is praying this passes since they too can not find work to put food on the table or buy diapers and pay mortgage etc. 35 hours will go a long ways and is way more then unemployment. Thank You

The noise has only just begun. If this TA passes, and I hope it does, there will be YEARS of bitterness. It’s going to make the CAL/UAL seniority issues look like a minor squabble. Even if the TA works as advertised, and we are all better off in a few years.......the EPIC levels of butt-hurt are never going away.

I don’t really see how and I’m actually smack dab in the middle...around 5,500. Every Pilot gets a vote and folks usually vote in what they perceive to be their in best interests.
With that being said, my vote is cast and there is no desire to discuss it...My point is that if we blame each other, then management wins twice. Don’t get it wrong, this TA is a HUGE win for management. I think it would be in the best interests of the profession to avoid blaming other line-Pilots for this.

Whose blaming anyone? I’m not. I’m merely pointing out that this was a long time coming. All I’ve heard from the LEC and MEC is we won’t make concessions, yet here we are again and it’s being so hard sold that the predicted divisiveness is even worse than expected. This isn’t a new situation. “Unprecedented”.... ya whatever, it’s another hire until we furlough cycle. Anyone that thought this time is any different, we’ll that was you plan. Some of us made other plans, and I don’t want to come back to any less of contract when we bounce back. No concession has ever yielded the desired result, but it’s always taken far longer to get back that which was given up. Some how this time is different?

Certainly not. I actually spent around 7 years on the MEC and voted on the current contract...so I smell what you’re cooking. A lot of time and effort was spent clawing back what we lost a decade earlier. All I ask is that you put the blame where it belongs...not with your fellow Line-Pilot. And while you might not intend to blame them, your delivery will most likely be misconstrued. Complex issues, complex times....a Union should never blame the most vulnerable, as in most-junior, for its problems... that’s cancerous

700 up from the bottom I voted yes. Having said that I don't understand begging people to vote yes or for that matter no... Most people I think are going to vote for their own self interest first. Alot of people do some mental gymnastics to make that jibe with what they think is best for the pilot group as a whole.
Also anecdotally I've done the shotgun method on applications for jobs. I've got a pretty stacked resume TD, high gpa from an AABI school. Nothing but crickets for the last 4 months. However if this TA fails I'm not gonna post some BS post like this thread trying to tug at the heart strings of no voters. I'll have a drink play with my kids, and hopefully see you guys in 7-8 years.
