Went from WARN’d on CCS yesterday to official furlough notice this morning, all within 24 hours... Talk about a roller coaster.

Brutal. Amazing how guys around our seniority were all in great spots 7 months ago. Can’t believe we are going to see NB CA’s to the street. I’m truly sorry to hear this.

Me too! Just remember that this roller coaster along with every message from United and probably 25% on this forum are orchestrated by Labor management to drive concessions.

Right, 25% was a gross exaggeration. My point was the roller coaster we (our families included) are on has been well thought out and planned to drive us to concessions.

At the end of the day, we are furloughing more pilots than our competitors. Some of which are furloughing no one.

I'm not sure if "Hold my Bier" is the right title, or if Lucy pulling the Football from Charlie would have been appropriate.. but what happened today should stay etched in EVERY Post Merger Hire.
Legacy UAL pilots have already seen this movie.
The story of the Frog & the scorpion.

To ALL the potential furloughees.. especially the added 600, I can only say that I (and ALL Legacy Pilots) know what you are going through. Stay Strong.. Don't Give up the Ship. Almost all of us will do what we can to support you. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes Motch, all true but in the mean time our management team has reinvented the "silent" push since the frequencies are so busy at this time. Yes the same silent push we did years ago in Iad. With people like this how can we lose? How did we keep such talent!!!!

To everyone who has received a furlough notice, my condolences. It absolutely sucks to get furloughed.

Furlough mitigation is a fallacy that has haunted pilot group after pilot group. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FURLOUGH MITIGATION!!!! (with the exception of early retirement options) Do not be manipulated by false hope. If UA or any other airline is bleeding, they will not be retaining anyone they don't absolutely have to (pilot or otherwise) even if they take a $1/yr salary. When you're bleeding, you try to stop the bleeding. Management isn't looking for an acceptable rate of sustained bleeding that aligns with the Core 4 principles, they are headed to the ER to amputate. Furlough mitigation is a deep well of false hope and misleading promises that are used to sabotage contracts. Don't be a sucker.
