Ha, we can do this all day. But what one person thinks is “selfish” may not be considered the same by another. For example, owning a luxury car may be considered selfish by someone who is earning minimum wage. That doesn’t mean it is.

No doubt.

That’s the great thing about living in a capitalist society. You can work as hard as you like and reap the benefits... and sow the turmoils.

Crazy issues we’re dealing with right now.

I always relate it to my two dogs. I feed them both the same amount, at the same time. And they always get enough. As they quickly eat all their food, the food drops from their mouths. They are in such a hurry. They are always worried what the other one has and how much more the other may have. I’ve never seen a dog worry if another dog is hungry. Interesting.

Now only 1% of 335 million make 250k/year which is around 3.35 million peeps, United is giving guys 250K for three years to sit their @ss home/enjoy life but it is viewed as a severe pay cut. Go around and say to your neighbors that you’ll make 250k to stay home and let’s see how bad they will feel for you! The guys that did not take that deal are IDIOTS, I wish the same deal comes around when I’m 62.
There are also those who enjoy flying and want to continue being paid to do it until the law tells them they no longer can.

I get that argument. However, I gotta say being a WB pilot today blows and it will blow for a while. You fly 12+ hours in a tube to get out and go through crazy customs stuff just to get to a hotel you aren’t “supposed” to leave. If you do leave you may end up in jail. God forbid you get assigned a China flight and have to enter the country, you may never leave.

INTL flying used to provide you with local wine, beer and food. A chance to see things you may never otherwise see. A chance to warm up during the winter or cool down during the summer.

im kind of glad I got knocked backed to a NB....I’ll go back to WB when the world is done melting down. If I was 62 and a WB CA I’d be out.....flying is only fun for about 20 minutes of every flight.

I hear ya. But I did a PC with a CA a few years ago on the airbus who was going to age out in less than a year. He was genuinely bummed out because he really loved flying, and he saw his time of being able to do that for a living was likely coming to an end.

That was then, I'd be interested in his opinion now. It's hard to see someone still "loving" the flying with ALL the bull**** that is involved in this gig now. Some guys are happy just to call themselves "Captain," regardless of the crap they have to slog through to keep doing it.

Yeah being 60+ (and most likely overweight) in a pandemic and having to travel for your paycheck? Sign me up! After all the virus ends after November 3rd...

^^^^^Bingo.....I love flying it’s all Iv ever wanted to do and it’s all I want to do. But right now just getting to and from the jet ****ing sucks. Being confined to a hotel room while on an international overnight is awful. WB flying isn’t worth the pay anymore in my opinion....or maybe now WB pilots are earning their pay
