Besides the money?
If I’m the company, I’ve negotiated in good faith with the pilots to provide a much higher cost manpower reduction than what furlough provides. I don’t hold out any expectation that the company will expand the demographic, the next move is they turn the dial at the other end of the spectrum via furloughs until pilot costs are where they want them.

So, has anyone heard that UAL and ALPA are going to possibly negotiate lowering the min age? The question was asked during the flight ops townhall and Bryan Quigley mentioned that the company and ALPA were working on some things but remained nonspecific. Curious. With only 210 takers of the VSL so far, what will they shoot for WRT numbers?

I know, "concessions" were off the table... but something has to give.
I suggest we offer to give up the "energy bars" provision of our contract (4-A-3), that requires the company provide candy bars... e.g. "energy bars"... in the crew rooms , for the pilots that can't figure out how to go a few hours between meals.
I believe this could be considered a major concession by the company, and could ultimately keep some pilots off of the street if we negotiate it carefully.
