... I find it interesting that if you look at 777 SFO FO it shows 250 Active Pilots, with a M/M of 223 and 27 Displacements. Yet PC's own Headcount shows a need for 307 Pilots! So why the HELL are they Displacing?
Then you have EWR 777 FO- PC's Headcount states 315 needed, (down from 335 June Crew News). Yet if you look at the Active & M/M from 20-09D we find 349 Active Pilots and a M/M of 308 with 41 Displacements?
WTF...

Good stuff Motch. There was also this nugget from flight ops after the voluntary programs were annouced:
"WARN Act notices were sent to 2,250 pilots last week, although my hope is that the number of pilots furloughed will be much less than that. As I shared in my July 8 message, we’ve been working with ALPA on solutions to help reduce the number of involuntary furloughs in Flight Ops."
To me, that reads that all of the voluntary programs (including early outs) are anticipated to reduce the 2250 number. At least according to flight ops which doesn't seem to jive with what ALPA has been hinting at.

The company, meanwhile, has multiple constituencies and it may not always be the best policy to scream "the sky is falling!" when trying to arrange further credit, for example.

Based on past history, I'd say the union is trying to be pragmatic and not offer false hope.

I would expect that the company has several contingency plans based on what they know so far. My guess is they are watching to see what we end up with traffic wise and the yield.
TSA has been showing an overall traffic of about 25%. Considering we are heavier into international than others our traffic could be well below the 25% ... Who knows ... WAG.
It would be interesting to see what the yield has done. I fear a double whammy considering both.
Challenging times ... Hoping for the best.
