Thanks for doing the math and since this thread is about early outs how many "eligible" Ual pilots will take it? I'm thinking if we're lucky best case scenario is half so that's only 550 pilots! IMO that's not a lot of help for the cause. Don't get me wrong it's better than nothing but this deal seems too restrictive & really won't save that many pilots from furlough. I'm a two time furlough hoping to avoid furlough #3 & I would've liked to have seen an offer that more senior pilots would want to take!

While you are right about that, it also means SWA didn't have to offer squat to the pilots, every furlough is half a displacement into an airplane everyone is typed and current in. The fact SWA offered a package generous enough for 24% of the pilots to take it does say something about "culture" (I'm at NK, and I think they will withhold my last paycheck until I FedEx HQ my ipad and ID if I get furloughed). It does sound like you got something further from SWA than I was expecting considering every furlough with the current amount of international flying is probably at least 4 full training events....

It is a good deal for those very few pilots. As I said earlier in my post I felt it was too restrictive... meaning, why limit it to 62+? Why not 60+ or 55+ etc. Saying "senior" wasn't the best choice of words. From what I've seen in this thread, pilots younger than 62 would take the deal.

You also have to remember that the Company wasn’t interested in ANY early out programs. I really don’t understand why though? The Union had very stiff headwinds and I think, all things considered, that they did a great job!!! Is it perfect? No, but we’re better than we were before?!?!
