Why all the complaining? If this allows pilots from the top, senior to most of us, to leave early, don't we all benefit in the short and long term? Furlough mitigation and career progression is what I see from the bottom.
I bet all the complainers are the ones who don't tip the van driver.

Providing a way for those for On furlough to keep their benefits is absolutely huge, and definitely a cash negative proposition for the company.
Also the half month cola option is a great voluntary thing for those of us who believed in the option for a lower mpg.
to me that shows very innovative thinking by our union, and a true willingness by the company to find a solution for both sides

Well, just like it sounds. So, RSV 36.5 MPG 9 days on 6 off. LH bids for flying in a 15 day period. Pay would be the highest of the 3 buckets. Also 6 days off minimum. Not sure how they’ll tweak 31 day months.

The early out package is fine, but am I the only one who's worried about the furlough plus packages?
The ONLY thing that was keeping the company from knocking 6,000 off the list was Kirby's desire to "be in a position to bounce back quickly". Furlough (and recall) is intentionally built to be a painful process for the company.
Considering that we voted yes on the furlough fund so that furloughed pilots would be able to keep bennies, isn't this ONLY a win for the company? Now they can keep a large portion of pilots current for the cost of training instead of monthly guarantee PLUS the cost of training.
Is there any reason I shouldn't think this will lead to more furloughs, not fewer?
