yup, and we had the “whale” at the other end of the spectrum.

I thought the CEO of Boeing coined the name when he saw a 747 parked next to a 737 and said something like, “I hope that whale doesn’t eat that guppy.”

Now that I'm in the frying pan I'm having difficulty finding info in all of the old messages/emails. Can someone point me to a nice consolidated source? I've been through the UPA so don't bother with that response lol. I'm interested mostly in things like grandfather rights to return to current BES, ability to bid post displacement (equip vs training freeze), positive space, etc...

Other than that, I'm currently a 320 Cap and I'm deciding between DCA 737 Cap & EWR 787 FO. Other than the pay hit, I don't really care about losing a stripe so ego is not a factor. I probably mojo'd myself by telling my FOs that I'll do an entire UAL career without flying the 737...so I might as well submit to the karma and just go there . I know the schedules and 777 vs 787 'missions' are totally jumbled now, but I'm curious what schedules I could expect as a 20-25% 787 FO? I'll gladly trade the $$ for extra days off. IIRC, Carlson put out something describing how the various fleets will be used in the near-mid term but can't find it.

**I think this is all just 'fire for effect' and an attempt to soften us up for the coming TA. IMO we should call Kirby's bluff and tell him execute with the contract we have. Shrinking an airline is anathema to him - he just wants us to help pay for him to do HIS job. We've done OUR job - safely & professionally delivered outstanding operational performance.
I’m in the exact spot as you. I was bounced of the 756 ca on the first bid so I went to the ewr 320 captain at 29%. Then they reshuffled the deck chairs again and parked more A 320s that were coming up on heavy checks on the most recent bid.
Now I dropped to 78%-82% depending on the day. . For me it’s an easy decision to be 20-25% on sparky.
I have served my tour (both seats) on the 73 aka guppy. No ego here either just going for quality of life. I figure when the music stops and all the deck chairs are reshuffled, for me at this point I’ve got one training cycle left in me. Perhaps being an optimist when things improve...and they will... I’ll upgrade on sparky and ride it out there.
who knows...good luck to us all. Especially to the guys most vulnerable...glad the furlough fund passed today!
If you are senior to me feel free to definitely bid the guppy....
