Thanks guys! I don’t understand the huge pull down in DCA. Last I heard it was the second most profitable base second to DEN.

That may be your answer.

I've flown both, and assuming I was going to be stuck commuting for either anyhow, I'd go for the bus. Schedules come and go, but the bus is simply less fatiguing to operate. Easier to fly, roomier, quieter, all that equals less fatigue. In my relatively short experience, for just fatigue level I'd equate 3 hrs in the 737 to 5-6 hrs in the 320. After 2-3 hrs in the 737 I'm feeling the pain. In the 320 the same mildly uncomfortable vibe happened at the 4-5 hr point.

They both fly about the same, just everything is easier in the 320. What is an electrically powered seat worth? After wearing my nice new watch in the 320 with no problems for over a year, I scratched the crap out of it the first week flying the 737 and switched back to my $20 casio after that. Multiply that times 20 minor annoyances between the two. I wouldn't commute to fly the 320 if I could live in base and fly the 737, but at the same base I'd be hard pressed to choose the 737.

All correct except that you don’t fly the bus, you program it

You can fly the bus just like any other plane minus the trim. I found the 737 much easier to hand fly actually. Maybe because I felt more in control with the trim. Bus flies great with automation off.

Maybe we come from different generations, but who cares? I want the easiest job possible with the most built in safeguards, Airbus mops the floor over the 73 in that regard.

EWR is the better "east coast" international base and if we are shrinking to essentially one east coast international base the cuts are coming to IAD. When things improve IAD will start to recover. Right now the entire United system is feeding many major international cities with one flight a day max.

You most definitely can fly it. Click click, click click. Turn off the flight director.

Went ahead and expanded the scope of the discussion.

The only reason I think people don’t like it is because it’s not from ‘Murica......

That's a fairly ignorant thing to say actually. Have you actually flown a 320? It flies like any other plane. When the Automation goes stupid, you turn it off and fly it like a plane with less automation. Like any other plane.
