Default Scott Kirby - "shared sacrifice" ....

Here it comes. Sure sounds nice and I won't even doubt that SK might actually believe that this approach will work, but I am very much still in the "no concessions" camp, even if it means a third furlough for me (which would be an industry first). If we make concessions on our contract:
a) We will likely not ever get them back, or get them back very slowly (if history is any indicator)
b) We will not bring a robust contract into a bankruptcy judge if it comes to that, which would mean a conceded contract would get even further devalued in said bankruptcy
c) What SK would likely demand in order to prevent "any furloughs" would be so dramatic that it might not even be a job worth having (What is he going to ask for? Reductions in MPG - certainly. Reduction in Scope? - again, almost certainly.

Stay the course guys and gals....no fast hands in the cockpit. There is a lot that can happen in 4 1/2 months. We don't need to make any concessions now (or at all). Don't react to SK's video with emotion. Of course he's going to put the public face on that we don't want to furlough. That's kind of his job. But it doesn't mean we have to buy into it. Things are trending up as we speak. Disney opens in July....

Keep the Faith!

I agree with you both.
This is the beginning of the propaganda push from the company.
It sounds like the flying is starting to pick up (still dramatically less than normal). Also a plus that the ORD 777 base and LAX 787 base will remain open for an additional 3 months for "robust cargo operation".

Shared sacrifice ... I remember that well.

They shared their rewards and we shared the sacrifice.

Don't be fooled again.

If it ends up in bankruptcy so be it. Remember that the first day, first item, of bankruptcy is the KERP.

They get theirs one way or the other. Make them work for it.

Executives and rich always want to personally capitalize the gains, share/socialize all the sacrifice.

No concessions!! Some of the c-12 pilots are already proposing some next week.

Nice buzzwords, not interested. Just like SK had no interest in a new contract. FUPM.
