The only thing more annoying would be those that were pumping the COVID 19 virus quarantines as necessary to prevent “doomsday” now realizing it was all BS and getting triggered. The hysteria surrounding COVID 19....AKA “the Flu”, should never have been allowed to completely destroy our economy. The economic consequences to those soon to be affected will pose a much more serious threat than the virus ever was. Never let this happen again....decision making on this scale driven by hysteria always ends badly.

“other opportunities” does not necessarily mean jobs you want to do. There will still be labor jobs. Thing is they probably pay less than your unemployment pay.

I"m not sure what you're basing that 2012 date on on but I'm a 2000 hire (twice furloughed and heading to third time) and these numbers go well beyond my seniority!

then it will go into the pre merger pilots where DOH doesn’t mean much. If you are 2000 then you are mixed in with 2007 hires.

The government is behind all of this. Real virus or not the government is profiting from this. Doesn’t matter if they are democrats or republicans they all are crooks. Remember those senators making money on the stock market by buying and selling their stock before this crisis got really big? They don’t care about us. The media also works for the government. I bet there are bills attached to the stimulus packages that are not nice

Southwest pilot here. First, super sorry for those numbers you guys just had laid on you. Sucks. And very sad.
I just posted this in the SWA section, but thought I'd post it here since it was mentioned.
Update to the TSA traveler throughput numbers. Traffic yesterday (Friday) increased by 38.9% vs the previous Friday. Traveler throughput follows a cyclical pattern by day of week with Friday usually being the biggest day of the week (at least since the start of the covid-19 crisis). Yesterday saw 171,563 travelers people processed by TSA. Last Friday, TSA handled 123,464.
What's sort of interesting about the numbers is that the first few days of this week averaged about a 20% increase in travelers over last week. The last two days were right at a 38% increase. Is that the beginning of an acceleration in the trend? Hard to tell with such a small sample size, but fingers crossed.
Here's a visualization of the data since Mar 29. Each line represents one week. The purple line is the current week. The blue line is the week of Mar 29. The yellow line is the low point: the week of April 12.
