They had never heard of
a. someone like me dumb enough to keep coming back to get kicked in teeth every 5 or 6 years (that's from my Dad), or
b. any airline being that inept without going out of business.

Anybody ever hear of one airline furloughing three times for the same relative seniority group?
That was funny. I’m going to hit the trifecta in a different way. Walked on strike. Had my contract shredded in bankruptcy. And now probably the furlough. So thanks for the chuckle...

IF the mainline pilots wet their pants and cry into their blankies, the regionals might advance another inch during the current spasm.

First post eh?
Well said Mako. Also, apropos of nothing, can you do me a solid and forward this photo to Lagoon440? Thanks

I’m going to take the bleach I was planning on drinking and just pour it in my eyes now.

This displacement is a confusing thing but I can't believe the lack of understanding of the numbers. To see a number that you don't understand and say that must be the number of furloughs and run on forums to scare the bottom of the list is shameful. It is complete ignorance or malice. Now we have Forbes running headlines with the dumb "4500" number.

Someone being displaced does not mean they are furloughed or that the airline doesn't have a seat for that 1 junior pilot. They are reshuffling multiple fleets with categories being consolidated. A displaced widebody CA can slide into another widebody CA seat. Will the company run another displacement to get him out of that new widebody CA slot? Did they plan for that? We dont know. Manpower gave us 30% of 2019 number. That is probably a much better guess minus retirements, early outs, the expensive nature of short term furloughs, and other union mitigation. Which is all on the table. Breathe people. Dont listen to pilots when talking about relationships, financial advice, and apparently interpreting data.

If you can’t find humor in even the worst of situations, I feel sorry for you. This sucks and we all agree, but this person added humor to an other wise serious post. I found it refreshing given the times. So lighten up Francis...

Sorry if I upset you ... It must have been the empathy part. ;-). I do enjoy humor but your statement came across as 'my little pee pee got bruised worse than yours' .

This business is fraught with wild rides and seems you both have seen your share. I hope things improve for you both.
