Perhaps the OP wasn't aware of Amazon and union representation. Now it's known to all.

I also suspect Amazon wants subcontractors to be "all about Amazon" and not have ADHD with other issues, such as re-starting PAX ops or having a bunch of FA's on the payroll, etc.

With that said, Sun Country will be doing some Amazon flying, but Sun Country is not mega-size Big-3 either

Not a dig against the OP, or any post on this thread, but most of the people that I have flown with who came from the regional airlines or the military are clueless when it comes to the world of the freight dog. They see UPS and FedEx pilots making big bucks and wonder why we can’t do the same. They don’t see that those companies are large shipping companies, and that the aircraft are just really fast trucks. If an airline like United were to convert some planes to freighters and try to compete in the bulk freight game, companies like Atlas and Kalitta would be our competition, and they would kill us.

Mental.
You don't have any concept of how minor of a blip UAL is to Amazon?
Forget Amazon the company, Bezos himself could personally buy every major you've heard of without batting eye.

and the guy wants 60/40.

Strap amazon boxes down to all the blocked middle seats. Hell, I’ll even courier the stuff around after I get furloughed....

It’s called investment .. he puts the money for conversions, UAL puts the metal

I am sure you have been briefed by him

Thats not how he operates. He buys the metal and then shops for the lowest bidder to fly his planes and freight. It is just like we do with the regionals. We buy planes and shop for the cheapest regional to haul our passengers. I wish that it would work. I’d much rather fly freight than passengers. If we retire the 767-300 I would expect Bezos to buy quite a few, but he doesn’t want us. Our WB first officers make more than Atlas captains. It’s only an investment if you stand a realistic chance of making a profit. Going up against Atlas in the ACMI market wouldn’t be an investment, it would be more like buying a boat.
