Another couple of nuggets from the Extension.

12/2015 is about 2400 from the bottom

so

1/23/2016 will be about 2300 +/-

I’m hoping Kirby hates to lose and is preparing for the upcoming fight, knowing that SW is our biggest competition in the recovery. We will be able to meet international demand no problem. I hope we flood the domestic market and fight hard to protect as many of our gates as possible and make sure we are not the weakest animal in the jungle when Southwest comes hunting for market share

God bless your optimism.
They will lose that argument. Maybe they had a case if they had done this in March but not after a 6 month reprieve. Plus it is of their control they chose to reduce flying. Is it the viruses fault yes but no one said you have to stop flying X number of flights they chose to because it’s not economically viable. Had the government shut things down completely then they maybe would have an argument

“act of God” = no pay. AA will use the same clause.

Union said company has no intention of using act of God. As every day goes forward they have less ability to claim this.

Thanks. This could come into the decision making on furloughs. They would have to convert their prized 153 - 76 seaters to 70 seats.

do they need to take them out - or just not sell them, i.e. limit availability to 70 seats?

They have to physically remove them.

Same or similar language now as was in Contact 2000 when the 9/11 furloughs were announced 2 weeks after the attacks. CEO said we would “perish” . Still paid the furlough pay, even without all the gov’mt cash we are receiving now. They’ll pay. Hard yes. Watch.
