It's going to be very interesting indeed. I've flown Boeing airplanes for over 25 years. Now I reckon i'll have to figure out airbus. That will be hard enough. Then add to it, ipads and on-line learning. When I first checked out I had paper manuals and I could hi-lite in my books. This will be much slower than the training folks think it will be.
You'll have plenty of time to adjust to iPads/on-line learning learning while 4000ish of us are adjusting to being furloughed. Our hearts bleed for you.

Not sure he was making quite the political statement you thought. There are some anomalies IE Kansas and Vermont and Maine but the map does look fairly much like a political map for red and blue. The conservative states like TX OK MT etc have not had nearly the restriction imposed on travel by the governors. The ones that were imposed here in TX, people accepted for a SHORT time and are now demanding the governor to step aside and let us get to work. I'm a conservative, but don't fault the governors of other states. They answer to their constituents, not me. Cheers.
EDIT: reread his original post....you're right. He did attack the dems for prolonging this. I'm not on that wagon just yet.

Your point is valid though. You will never hear anyone associated with the union tell you not to pick up flying. We had a court order telling us we had to continue with past practice, which meant required to pick up open time.
Attend your local council meetings--which will be interesting going forward with the social distancing rules. Talk with your reps. There are times when council business is conducted off the record for a reason. We do not necessarily want to give our battle plan to the company. I've said it before, the courts are not labor's friend. We are labor if anyone is misinformed. If ALPA is taken to court it will be very difficult for us.
Stay the course, enforce our legally negotiated contract, insist on it!

I have to disagree. Everyone hired since the merger does not know how the game is played, for that matter since either bankruptcy. It is our responsibility to educate the newbies on what to do.

Usually I am a fan of guys not wanting to train on the Airbus (as an Airbus guy). But this comment was so utterly tone deaf it can’t possibly be real.

Delta pilot here. When I hear those comments around our flagpole it’s usually because the double breasted suit is too tight (like a corset) or our hats a strangulating the blood from our head to the common sense organs.
