Regional forum??? Check your search before you blast someone. There's at least 2: CAL73 and CAL 73 <--- (space in-between, in case you had your foggles on) or I can swap it to lordCAL 73 if that's easier on you to search

I think you mistakenly believe that someone was referring to you .. it was referring to someone named Domino .. just a neutral third party here, but Domino is indeed a troll who goes to numerous forums and spreads hate / discontent.

Many are acting as if this displacement is being done as a "bargaining" tool .. my understanding from the MEC and Oscar's words are that this is being done in extremis to save United through this crisis.

I don’t think it’s a bargaining chip at all. If things stay shutdown the way they are then the company is toast. If things rebound a bit then 6000 to 7000 pilots are gone. If things open up and people start to get tired of the hysteria and BS associated with the FLU / COVID 19 then 2000 to 3000 pilots will hit the streets. This has been a complete overreaction on the part of government. Hysteria has driven politicians to make stupid decisions that have completely wrecked the economy. The virus is pretty much looked at as a non-threat at all to non aged people.... but now Democratic politicians have figured out they can use lock downs and quarantines to their advantage to wreck the economy. This achieves a couple of big goals for them...it hurts Trump because the strong economy has been a huge feather in his cap AND it has made it possible for large Democratically controlled urban areas to cry poor to the Federal government and seek financial assistance. Bankrupt basket cases like Detroit and Chicago can now leverage the Federal government for bailouts .... take the money and waste it again. It’s pretty late in the game to fix things for us but the sooner stupid lock downs are eliminated the better. Pretty grim outlook for airline workers.

Forgive this stupid question, but is the reading between the lines BQ mentioned indicate the 6801 seniority number is expected to be the junior man? And if your name appears on the Partial Displacements letter of a continuing fleet, and you're below the 6801, that you're gonna get furloughed (assuming this set of projections is correct when we arrive this fall)?
Just trying to make some possible future plans...

I'd say a third of the Instructors at TK are junior to 6981. That and the need to train across all fleets is why they just posted for additional full time and job share I/E across all Fleets.
I think it would be hard but not impossible to furlough more than 2000 on Oct 01 but I don't think that UAL management are creative enough to do it.
Unfortunately for them, people will need to be trained to fly 737/320's with alot of other training on other fleets.
Just my 2 cents on where it starts. Could be more or less depending on the DB.

The weak point is guppy and bus FOs. That’s what they need to get people into so they can furlough. The question is how to get them there fast?
So I’d go figure out how many guppy, Airbus, and 756 Captains are in each base, and then I‘d pick a number and make sure everyone junior to that number can’t displace to anything other than guppy or airbus FO in their bases, meaning they can’t go to Captain or NB FO anywhere else. I’d pick a number and make it the same across as many fleets as possible. Let’s just say 6,801 (a random number I just came up with)
Then as soon as the displacement closes, I’d do a 100% effort on training to retrain all those former Captains to NB FO and, for the most part, ignore the other people or start slowly retraining them. A 756 Captain who is bumping to 777 FO isn’t going to be a high priority, since there are a ton of 777 FOs. But a 756 Captain who is 7,500 on the list can ONLY go to NBFO now, I’d immediately retrain. Those 756 Captains are the highest priority to get retrained, because they get pushed into a lower pay category, AND we have bodies in seats to furlough from the bottom. I’d do the same with the 756 FOs who are between 6,801 and 9,000 seniority, since they have nothing else to do.
That’s what I would do.

Let them. They are going to wipe out all the equity holders, including the ones they just issued stock too. They’d all be removed from management immediately.
