Furlough estimate

Wadr the notion of "depending upon pilot seniority" you will not get a paycut won't work. It will be the top 10 to maybe 15% that can add time to their schedule. The vast majority will eat cake and be stuck. Even 10-15% is a stretch because of the top 5% who build their schedules to obscene amounts.
Insult to injury, the top 10-15% in every seat save the NB effo will be in the rumored tier taking the least mpg hit. Go figure.

either way the senior pilots will get paid it’s just the lay of the land.

There is something we can do about telling the middle 1/3 to suck it up on a part time salary for an indefinite time waiting for a metric, or "short duration" which is guaranteed to be extended on fears of furlough.

No there isn't. No one is getting worked up about guys picking up time. The illumination of who is able to pick up open time with so few trips available goes to the issue of selling an agreement on a false narrative.

how about we install line caps. You cannot pick up or fly more than 65 hours? That will hit everyone.

Comical. My bes has probably the highest percentages of scabs yet the most prolific pilots I see scarfing up ot & ppu are all legacy UAL. I also don’t see any contractual prohibition about picking up open time.

I get what your saying but it's almost like we're playing whack a mole. Honestly, beyond presenting a clean agreement, singularly focused on the issue of furlough mitigation, and void of smoke and mirrors while maneuvering to achieve 50+1 I have no ideas.

also try to remember no pilots are currently furloughed.

Just to be clear, the spin is that a 10-20-50% drop in our minimum pay guarantee (mpg and what the company will most likely build our lines to) is not a pay cut because we can pick up extra flying to cover our loss. Now picture the pilots in seniority order fighting over a couple open trips. The top 5% build their schedule back, the rest suffer.
