To clarify, my rep did NOT comment on the MPG tiers. That has been floated around the ranks. All he commented on was the man power positive/no hourly pay rate cuts/snap back to UPA.
Would I consider something like this with very strict language for snap backs and a very firm end date as well as us getting a few things on top of agreeing to this? Maybe. I’m not spring loaded to vote no. I’m incredibly hesitant to vote in any form of gives because I’ve listened to many guys and gals that have seen this movie before. I respect what they say has happened in the past, but I’m willing to read the fine print of any detail that could possibly help reduce or save any of my brothers and sisters jobs. However I am still very much in the camp of “concessions won’t solve this problem, prove me otherwise”.

Just to be clear, the spin is that a 10-20-50% drop in our minimum pay guarantee (mpg and what the company will most likely build our lines to) is not a pay cut because we can pick up extra flying to cover our loss. Now picture the pilots in seniority order fighting over a couple open trips. The top 5% build their schedule back, the rest suffer.

During that time I was stopped by a former piedmont guy every time I commuted through Charlotte ... “I was hired in 1984 and I’m still stuck in the right seat of the 737 and that ain’t fair and I was wondering what I will be able to hold at United as a 1984 hire?” (Said with a heavy redneck voice).
I would just tell them each and every one that yeah ... you will be a 747 captain but not senior enough to hold the good lines ... will probably have to work your arse off ... maybe 12 days a month.
It was a done deal according to Chip M. CEBOLOS and all that crap.
Glad we squashed that deal.
Oh well, I bet it sucks to be you.
Have a blessed day Al.

Al ... are you still upset because you didn’t get that wide body seat that was ‘yours’ back at the turn of the century?

You may be thinking of someone else. I’m a “newer guy” than your post eludes. My UAL bud said 35-40% pay cut. I was shocked to hear it. My opinion of the UAL pilot group is nothing but respect. We are all taking on water.
