Iv been on the 787 for 5 years and have never bought the first drink. Guess I haven’t met those self absorbed senior guys you are so upset about. could it be your attitude?

Kick my dog? Is that some kind of veiled reference to ignoring the plight of those losing thier jobs? That couldn't be any further from the truth. But if you're going to make continued ignorant comments about the present situation expect replies like others have also said to you. Now go pick up your trophy of the day.

You’ve been “...on the 787 for 5 years” and you’re “looking at a possible furlough”?
There has been a lot of “advice” given to the junior guys here on this forum, as well as other social media. To bad the advice always has the interests of the senior guys in mind.

He didn’t say that he was DEN or IAH based. We had probationary pilots getting 777 awards in SFO before all of this started. You could easily be on the 787 for 5 years in SFO and be close to the furlough mark. Senior in SFO doesn’t mean that one is senior with United.

I learned early on in this career that “we as a pilot group” only care about the individual pilot’s own self interests. I hadn’t been here for a few years. I’m at a bar with a couple of 787 LCAs. I said I was getting another beer and ask if anyone needed anything. I was handed a whiskey glass and without even looking at me, the reply was ”Sure”. So I ask “What are you having?” The bartender said “I know what he’s drinking.” I have no idea what it was, but it cost $49. He knew I was a fairly new FO. And he didn’t have a clue how much that drink had cost me.
That is the typical sentiment here. Just my 2 cents for any of the newer/younger folks here.

We’re furloughing up to May 2015 hires. He’s been on the 787 for 5 years and he’s “close to being furloughed.” I don’t remember the 787 in any drops in 2015?

Your situational awareness is extremely low.

No one said that the furloughs stop with the 2,850. Without massive spending by the government or a miraculous recovery, we will most definitely have round 2....3......

I think the guys getting furloughed have a lot of valid concerns about what's on the other end for them. People are scared. Some have special family issues, some are likely to lose two United pilot paychecks, and it won't be easy for most.
If they want to vent them by all means vent. Correcting misconceptions is good but, during these times characterizing someone with names or denigrating them serves no purpose.
Enough already.
