Default Furlough estimate

Well there you have it... you’re just an asset to the company, to be used and discarded when not needed... “for United’s survival”.

And apparently your importance is the same in regards to someone senior. We need you... as long as it doesn’t cost us to need you. FUPM, FPLD and all that.

“Now take the trays back and see if they made any fresh coffee. BTW, You gonna eat that cheesecake?”

This place...

Would you explain your position to me? I'm not seeing it. Understand you think the "goodwill towards pilots" is worth quite a bit of money.
If you've got a more detailed idea, I'd like to read it.

to think our relationship with the company has ever been different or ever will be different is naive. There are 88,000 employees it’s impossible to be anything else.

“Maximize shareholder value.” Corporate America lives and dies by those words whether they are running an airline or making light bulbs.

Funny. Immediately there are two comments about the first paragraph I wrote... but crickets on the last two.

Did you know about the seniority system before you started?

I don’t even understand your last two paragraphs. Are you ****ed off at the senior pilots or the seniority based system? Either way your anger still appears to be misplaced.

My anger... misplaced? The anger from the senior guys that think the junior guys just need to suck it up because “they had to”, is misplaced.

If they furloughed all but the most senior pilot, his only concern would be who is going to do the walk around.

This entire thread is only concerned with keeping what “I” have. As long as “I” am not affected.

yeah......you aren’t paying attention. I haven’t seen a single senior pilot say suck it up. All they are telling you is a truth you don’t accept. United is not a family business it’s a $50 billion dollar a year corporation.....we are a necessary cog in the wheel and right now we have more cogs than we need.

As long as those junior cogs take the furlough.
