I tried to start one called “food fight,” but it turns out the team-sport style (“all would be well if Republicans/Democrats controlled everything”) guys don’t want to be told to confine their certainty and policy expertise to one place.

as a thread relevant question, how much of my 2021-22 vacation would I get paid out of taking a voluntary furlough? The UPA says accrued... does that mean it would prorated? IE if furloughed November 1, you would have completed six months of service (May-October) in the 21-22 vacation cycle, therefore 50% of that vacation pays out?

My effort to get thread back on track.
I didn’t know for sure you were “senior/crusty” until you told us. But WOW......from reading these posts it sure is easy to guess which individuals have not even the slightest, most infinitely remote WISP of concern for losing their jobs in October......

If you are saying that I have not a wisp of concern, you would be wrong. Very wrong. I'm hoping things come back to the point there are no furloughs ... doubtful ... or we can do something to minimize.

I would love to see pilot unity on this but more importantly we need political unity to work through this ... Leadership from the top ... But sadly, it's not going to happen.

In an editorial published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), CDC reviewed the latest science and affirms that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 that could reduce the spread of the disease, particularly when used universally within communities. There is increasing evidence that cloth face coverings help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others...

Its only what you have accrued ... 6 months into the vacation cycle you have only accrued half

”Things are getting worse.” How so? Compare Europe to the U.S. Doesn’t look dire to me.

I guess I should have gone ballistic on the last administration when my kid spent a week in the hospital with a bad case of H1N1. But that wouldn’t have been fashionable.

Trump signed a bill payroll protecting you from March-Oct 1.

Now that it's approaching and you don't feel your salary is safe, he should have closed the whole country longer since you were protected anyway.

You would be screaming to reopen if there were no payroll protection, and you were already furloughed drawing unemployment.
