Since this is the furlough thread. I just bolted on the other half of my wing, I’d just like to say thank you to all of the great people I’ve had the pleasure of working with in this past year. Everyone I’ve worked with are true professionals. I’m not happy about looking for other work. I do expect to return someday to a career worthwhile, so let ALPA do it’s job and hold the line. My one recommendation is to keep the politics out of the flight deck. Debate all you like here or anywhere else you choose but not in the jet. Cyanara.

I have always ways been a moderate ... very slightly to the right. I was involved in the Republican Party in a minor way and flew for a powerful senator during his last contested campaign.
I learned a lot doing that. A lot of what I learned, I didn't like.
Where I live there is no tolerance for anyone who doesn't have their right shoulder hard up against the right wall.
I am now an independent voter.
What at concerns me is the way the intolerance has increased.

Perhaps because it manages the stock swings from each incremental news release in a series of predictable events, rather than blowing the opportunity all at once. Just spitballing, but it sure seems that way.

Cancel Culture is definitely a thing of the Left. The Right feel people of the Left have bad ideas. The Left feel the people of the Right are bad people for the ideas they have. So in their minds, that gives the Left the rationale to cancel the Right.
On a related note:
Certain things should be in context. Report the increase positive COVID tests. Also report the positivity rate, daily death count, demographics of those who test positive, and those who die. Then people can make up their own mind with the facts given to them.
It seems that as positive cases go up, the positivity rate and death rate are going down. Why is that?

None of what you just said made any sense whatsoever. COVID doesn’t care about left or right. Neither should we. The sooner this disease is under control with hopefully a vaccine, the sooner our industry will recover. Fighting about this by criticizing the left or the right does absolutely nothing. The only way forward is to beat this thing. Wear your mask, tell others to do so. Stop gathering in large groups and use proper hygiene everywhere else.
And for the love of god, leave politics behind.
