So.. first of all, sorry for those 2250 that will be getting their notices today. Keep in mind, that STILL doesn't mean that you will hit the streets on 1 Oct, or 30 Oct.. or 30 Nov.
Besides whatever the union/company are doing.. I still believe that we will see a CARES Act 2 before 1 Oct. No way United lays off 30 thousand employees and Delta/American don't do something similar, and the Administration doesn't step in somehow. 100grand hitting the streets before election time is a nightmare.
Some were touting 8000, 6000, 4000ish furloughs and yet we end up with 2250 ItF. As MANY of us have stated on here for months.. the initial displacements and the thought of furloughing into the Legacy Groups was never realistic.
Yes, this stupid virus is still here and not going anywhere soon. But we will have to learn to live with it and move forward with a new normal.
Hopefully we see some realistic Early Out program so those with 5-10 years left are offered a way out (if they so desire) and who knows what other furlough mitigation they will agree to. (though- NO concessions!)
Again, to my fellow Pilots who will receive their notices today.. Stay Strong and don't give up the fight. It ain't over yet.
Always

PS) Have two Intent To Furlough notices in my files downstairs.. Trans States and Continental. Got lucky and they never went through. Keep The Faith~

ALPA Furlough Mitigation
ALPA has been intensely focused on securing an early-out package that will mitigate furloughs by incentivizing pilots to retire early. We are also finalizing provisions for Voluntary Furloughs and Company Offered Leaves of Absences (COLAs) for those pilots willing to temporarily step back from active flying. An MEC review of these voluntary programs is expected soon, and we believe they will offer significant mitigation. We understand how important this is for all United pilots, and we are working to achieve these provisions. You can expect to hear details as soon as a tentative agreement is reached.

I would bet my next paycheck that there is no CARES round 2 funding for airlines before Oct 1.

Imagine how bad it was when 20+ million hit the street... Congress has way more important things to focus on. Remember the extra $600/week unemployment ends July 31, and employees being paid by the PPP are getting closer to the 24 week amount (which means many more will be laid off after that.)
I would bet my next paycheck that there is no CARES round 2 funding for airlines before Oct 1.

If I didn’t already know that it was mid-Feb 2016, the simple math to get there estimating is that 2330 pilots hired since the 23 Jan 16 class that is tied to the RJ seat count, 2330-2250=80, or about 2 classes. Its Feb 2016.

Based on my info the class of 23 Feb 16.
1 furlough is too many. Hopefully these WARN notices turn out to be unexercised.
Ive been saying 2300. Glad I was wrong. Sorry I wasn’t wrong by more.
MC put out a YouTube video and email. Please read. And take care of one another. That includes empathy for all the employee groups.
Everyone is feeling various levels of stress, etc. Don’t be a DB on top of the ****e sandwich.
