This appears to be a Shimano Tiagra offshore reel. Commonly used for Tuna, Wahoo, Billfish and other large pelagics. Not cheap at over a grand, but will last a lifetime with proper care.

Bambi is fishing with an Orvis Battenkill.

Of course you can! Once HKG comes back on line you’ll have access to a kaleidoscopic array of different makes and models which are available for short to long term rental.
