What a deal!!! SK just told us we're losing 100M per day in revenue due to the Rona. That's 3B per month, or roughly the cost to buy Continental Airlines in 2010. WOW. This sh.. is real.
Incidentally, we could all agree to cut our guarantee by 20% to 56 hours per month and save this great company about 35M per month by my math. That's 1.2M per day, or 1.2% of the revenue loss. That should get er done. Again, this sh.. is real.

You should be more worried about what will happen if we buy another airline while pilots are on furlough, because those pilots at the acquired airline will ask to staple all the furloughed pilots from United claiming they “didn’t bring a job to the merger”. It will likely be a much smaller airline and they will just propose a 1 for 1 integration saying that domestic flying is more lucrative than international flying. They will also say that all Captain jobs are the same. They will also say that their relative percentage on their seniority list is all they really care about. They will also say they “didn’t want the merger”. Not to mention they will say they were doing “fine” on their own and United needed to buy them to keep from going under. Ask me how I know this.
The important pieces that SK will be looking for are gates. We've got plenty of aircraft on property and on order.

Two time furloughed UAL pilot here, so just my opinion...
1: After 911 Captains we’re saying don’t worry you’ll be back in a few month’s.
2: After 911 I think I got like 2 weeks furlough pay (it was not per the contract)
3: When I got recalled the 2nd time UAL and CAL MEC agreed to staple all the UAL furloughed to the bottom of the list below 180 furloughed CAL 08 hires. The arbitration board corrected that.
4: What I’ve learned in 20 years at UAL: if your not lucky on seniority date your a temp worker.
5: Get a copy of Dave Ramsey’s total money makeover and follow it! Being debt free when the shi# comes crashing down is a much better place to be.
