California is getting grayer. Governor Newsom said his self-isolation guidance would apply to the approximate 5.3 million seniors age 65 or older who live in the state. They usually know their science. But they don't necessarily get the big picture (usually don't)... tend to take a very stovepipe view when their 15 minutes arrives.

Climate scientists would have us shut down airlines, all heavy industry, and ride bikes everywhere to save the "planet".

Politicians, with all of their warts, at least represent the interests of actual people. Scary as it may sound, they are often the adults in the room.

In a Colorado mountain county they just ordered no one over 60 will be allowed in a bar. Wonder why? Maybe people my age will talk some sense in to the younger who are panicking. Wouldn’t want common sense to prevail.

That’s one way of looking at it. This LOA is pretty generous. One might say too generous, particularly letting a guy retire at 62 and collect 50 hrs/month for three years. plus 401k and PS.

Maybe AA sees this blowing over quickly and these leaves and early outs being a very limited offering.
