And why is that? Because the media has got everyone so riled up demanding the govs “do SOMETHING”.
The media has everyone so riled up that demand falls and flights reduced.

Yeah that was because of two things.
The recession.
And more so: Changing the rule from 60 to 65 creating a glut of pilots that wouldn’t be lost due to normal attrition. Without the age 65 change there would have been almost no if any furloughs.

Perhaps its because if the CDC budget hadn't been slashed the Government COULD "do something." What are they going to do without test kits? Heck, the politicians can't even get their stories straight.

they just got $8.3B and as the CDC said. ANY college or hospital lab could test for it. If you want to make it political, blame China.

The CDC’s budget didn’t get slashed. It was proposed in the 2021 budget but hasn’t gone through.

I wish we could go back to those days... Hate to be the old man yelling "get off my lawn!", but has the media really become that much worse in 10 years? This virus is threatening our livelihood because of media exploitation. I kept my job throughout the 2008 recession (my company furloughed, and my career stagnated...), and H1N1 was but a mere blip. Now this COVID-BS is causing industry turmoil like no other.

i know it was because of a recession, like there is no chance of a recession. I guess that is why the Fed cuts rates and stocks are down 20 percent because no one thinks a recession is a real possibility
