What do the masses say about the fact that American and Delta haven’t changed a thing?

Agreed. I talked to a buddy at delta yesterday. He said they haven’t changed a thing. Their lines look normal for April. Neither has stopped hiring.

their planes are just as empty as ours. They can either adjust or not I personally think it’s a good idea fiscally to adjust and put the capacity back in a few months when the hysteria ends.

imporrant to remember we are not chopping up airplanes.

This reaction means we either have some really smart guys who are seeing something the rest of the industry isnt seeing. Or our management is team bean counters to the extreme who will exploit every provision in the UPA to save a nickel regardless how it affects morale or employee relations. I don’t think there’s an in between. Time will tell.

this entire thing is so dynamic it’s hard for the industry to make the same decisions on the same day. It took several days for UA to outright cancel China when DL and AA did. It’ll probably take several days for the others to reduce capacity to match ours. This isn’t going to be a all out max flying tell you can’t see straight summer that people were expecting.

I agree. That’s why it surprises me.

No doubt this crisis is evolving by the hour. Aside from the 11th hour new hire class cancellation, I’ll withhold judgment until there is further clarity on the state and trajectory of the industry. But I’ll reiterate our management is being hyper reactionary compared to our peers, which means they’re either smarter than most knew or sentinels of accounting.

I think it is good that we are ahead of it. Flybe, a UK LCC closed the doors last night.
