Most of those awards were sending folks to a higher paying position which is essential in lean times. It is a big deal.

It is always wise to prepare. Especially right now. It is irresponsible to come on here and guarantee furloughs are coming. Those doing so are overblowing the situation, like the media, and need to stop. There is always a chance things could go south but no one knows for sure. The company appears to be taking measures for a short term dip in demand. If they had any good intel on this impacting us for years they wouldn’t be taking these temporary measures, it would be more drastic.

If you're talking to me I don't believe I specifically said furloughs were coming. I said things were going to get worse. I specifically mentioned displacements and parking airplanes. Who "guaranteed" furloughs?

I'm not a UAL guy but this news isn't good. Refers to what just got posted on Flying Together a couple hours ago. It wouldn't be surprising if DAL, AAL, SWA etc. follow suit.

Having just returned from HKG myself last week and having seen a nearly-empty airport with nearly every possible inch of tarmac occupied by parked Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon, Hong Kong Express, and Hong Kong Airlines birds...I fear that the hype over the virus may well be doing more damage to the global economy than the actual virus ever could
Stay healthy and safe out there.

Hopefully in the right direction. That really is at the heart of what we're discussing. Things will move again. When in the positive direction again is the question. Sorry your bid got cancelled. It is a big deal. Especially if your in a seat you don't want to be in. It sucks having to be in that position for a long time.
