But two months later our Pacific traffic is down 75%. Our Europe traffic is getting hit and we will announce reductions to Europe flying. I think you think that the shock from corona has peaked. It hasn't. Asia is one thing. Europe and domestic, through the summer, and possible cancelation of the Olympics is a serious problem. Like I said, the storm isn't even overhead yet. You think the emails we got today will be the last bad news? It won't. Those letters were steps 3 and 4 in a 10 step process that you and I know all too well about. It's happening.

Yes. This is the end of the bad news. This is just a very bad flu virus that will pass in a month or two. If we had hundreds of thousands dropping dead every week it would be a different story. The Coronavirus is not a new virus.

Update: 213 vacancy award cancelations announced since I first asked you if you thought that was the end of the bad news. It's not.

The US economy is resilient. Those that have bet against it in the past have been hurt. If we had been in a recession prior to this happening I would be more concerned. The stock market is forward looking indicator and it isn't indicating the end of the world.

I'm not asking you about the virus. I'm asking you about the bad news coming from the company to the pilot group. I don't really give a **** about corona. Maybe selfish. I care about our business though.

I guess it's easier to make a joke out of it when it's not your award. I'd try it but would feel like a POS for doing it.

I thought that I did answer the question when I said that more storms are heading our way, so to be clear, no, this isn’t the end of the bad news. We’re most likely looking at low credit lines and no need to pay premium pay since people will scramble for what ever is out there, but I don’t think that we’re looking at a furlough. If this goes on, the older 757 and 767 fleet could be parked, international and domestic frequency reduced, or other temporary reductions, but to furlough the company will need to see no light at the end of the tunnel for years. We’re not there.
