The “old management shell game continues”.
Year after year, same old sh!t. Get the word “regional” out of your mouths. It’s the new mainline “c” scale. With ALPA approval stamped all over it. Normally, this would cost mainline a lot of money in displacements, retraining, etc. instead, they just take the scrap plate from under one dogs mouth and throw it under the next dog. The first dog—gets a nice foot in the @$$ out the door with nothing but a wave goodbye.
if ALPA was worth anything at all, anyone flying United, Delta, American, or who ever, would all be on that mainline carriers seniority list.
You guys are letting them off easy—giving away the whole store while you fight over scraps.
“One Level of Safety” yea, sounds nice.
“One Seniority List” should be the goal, nothing less.
God Speed to the TSA pilots.

IMHO part of the issue is the creation of a large pool of pilots with tons of glass jet time.
Experience that would probably have put you at the top of the stack to get hired at a major in the past, when regionals flew few jets.
Now, that relatively larger pool is competing for a proportionally smaller shot at a majors job.
The carrot has been moved.
You could arrange a staple at the same flying pay on the same planes and it seems like most would be happy.
There's a dwindling number of regional airlines to have bid against each other anyway.
It's not like we don't have good metrics, good safety, and good training at XJT so wouldn't a staple probably improve things overall?

These are uncharted waters. Management thought it was a good idea to cut loose 8Billion of our lifeboats when the seas were calm and the horizon clear. So, before we give the big finger to ALPA, let's look at the entire picture. The last 20 years have not been kind to organized labor for a number of reasons. But since this forum seems to freak out over posts with even a shred of political discourse, we're supposed to keep quiet and not pontificate on why ALPA has only one-half of the cojones they had back when Dubinsky told Wolfe to pound sand. Times and the law are much different now. Votes matter.
I feel bad for Trans States. I feel bad for Piedmont. I feel bad for my newhire buddy at Frontier. Hell, I feel bad for us ALL....scabs excluded of course.

It will be interesting to see how some of our furlough protections are applied. If we furlough deep enough (1/23/2016), some expensive provisions kick in. The 76 seat jets have to be reconfigured to 70 seats, and the companies operating those jets have to hire our furloughed pilots at 2nd year pay. It will be hard for them to hire our pilots when they are potentially looking at furloughs too.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for here, but from my spot on my list, I am quite worried about the bottom HALF of the list at my airline in the short term and the whole damn airline in the long. Over 2000 of our dogs have roamed the streets already. Many got to take the tour twice and some for nearly a decade. They didn't eat a Feces Sandwich, they ate the whole "all you can eat banquet". The leftovers were then jammed up their check valves.

Not at all. I think you missed my point. I don’t think we should give ALPA the middle finger. Instead, we should be demanding more from ALPA. Instead of negotiating for scraps, SENORITY AT THE RESPECTIVE MAINLINE is the order of the day. When we come out the other side of this latest bullish,t debacle, it’s gonna be a feeding frenzy for pilots. Add in the 73 max rts, buyouts of the top senority guys, scheduled retirements, ramp up for back to normal flight schedules. There’s no better time than now. It’s a historic opportunity to right a severe wrong perpetrated on the pilot profession. We’re all about to see real “American Horsepower” in action on this Chinese made pain in the a$$. Not gonna last as long as you all may think.
