Dude (if you are a male.. and if not- oops!)
I was AT Trans States when that went down.
I was a proponent of the NO Vote when we voted to accept GoJet into Trans States. It came with 70 seaters being flown at 50 seat scale. (I was Sec Tres of our LEC.. ). No Way. The Vote did not pass! And I'm happy with that.
I had a long one on one conversation with Duane Woerth about this issue. It went back to Freedom Airlines and USAirways. I also had a long conversation with individuals with TSA Management.
It is what it was..
Once the 70 seaters got their noses under the tent flap, the battle started going south.
Problem is.. ALPA National didn't want to fight that battle then. It also seems that it doesn't want to fight that battle now?!
So now I wonder-
Will ALPA National be happy that they are losing those union dues?
or will they be ok with it as the Trans States Pilot group might not have brought in the same amount they took out?
With regards to 76 seat aircraft
Kinda simple-
We Buy them, We Fly them.
Been in this game a short 20 years. But in that time, I keep hearing the same thing-
We Will Get Them NEXT Time.
I also keep seeing the that same thing-
A union carrier goes under and a non union carrier grows.
Enough already.

More growth, a quicker upgrade, leading to additional resume fodder such as sim, LCA, etc etc etc etc.
