Default Traveling with working crew member

Does anyone know what checking the “working with traveling crew member” button in employee res actually does? Does it up the boarding priority or reduce cost or what? Thinking of taking my wife with on an international trip and wondering if I need to burn a vacation pass to ensure she gets on the return flight home? Thanks for the info.

Traveling with working crew member ups your pass rider to your own pass priority (still lower than your vacation pass priority), which is higher than if they were traveling alone.

However, this is only in effect for the legs that they are with you. If they get bumped then their priority for subsequent flights goes back to their own original priority.

It would put your wife at your level of boarding...more of an issue for buddy-passes.

It does not elevate a vacation pass to my knowledge.

BTW: vacation passes really help with service charges and fees on Intl. Highly recommended.

Also helps if you ever take your parents with you. Takes them from a 3 or 4 to a 0 or 1, depending on if you use a vacation or regular pass for them.

How so? Are departure taxes any less?

No, just the UAL fees are waived.

You still pay local departure taxes.

Your spouse is always at your level boarding regardless of traveling with your or not.

Hey All,

Happy New Year. As a serious question is there any form of a “user” guide for our travel benefits? Or does it come down to tribal knowledge with trial and error. I start BI on Jan 7.

Thanks in advance y’all.

When you get on board there are travel policies and information on company website
