Maybe not, maybe just let Delta bleed JB in Boston with their "near Europe" aspirations.
What a sad thing to say in this industry. I remember very clearly flying with United furloughed pilots that were very happy and lucky to have a job at JetBlue post 9/11, a job that fed their families, some of whom did not return to United. What a great attitude you have toward your fellow pilots.

Just curious and this will open up a whole new discussion fraught with "baggage", but how did you get "hammered"? The reason I ask is because did you ever change your expectations from pre-2003 to post 2003? When I got hired in 1996 I was 8442 out of 8444, and I expected to be a 747 captain for 20 years. I changed my expectations, and I am not unhappy. The new UAL/CAL combined entity is WAY stronger and better than anything I ever imagined.

Are you a JB pilot pretending to be a UAL pilot. Maybe you are one of those guys “it doesn’t affect me so I’m ok with it”. It sounds like you didn’t get hammered as bad as the rest of us so it really was fair. You probably should have left that one alone.

With regard to the “near Europe” aspirations: Explain to me how JetBlue operating an A321LR/XLR from BOS/JFK to Europe is any different than what United is going to do with its recently announced A321LR order. Perhaps you are worried that JetBlue being one of the largest carriers at both BOS and JFK might actually have the feed and the product in “MINT” (recently voted Best Domestic Business Class by TPG), that it could actually compete with Legacy service on Trans-Atlantic routes.

UAL is getting the 321s for secondary markets and has widebodies for everything else.

With UAL rolling out Polaris on the widebodies, including the Hi-J version of the 767 with only 167 seats, MINT is a blip as far as UAL is concerned.

Consider the current JB 321 with 4 MINT "suites", while this is what UA flies to LHR 6x daily from EWR, for example:

Transatlantic, UAL and JB are two different airlines with two different markets.

You answered your own question.

Get told by the VC at LCAL "we don't want you here" during the UCAL period? Probably not, you weren't furloughed...twice.

As far as the 321 LXR for Jet Blue and Mint...please...where did you get that idea from? United PS...until Smisek killed it with his "cheapen" the product vision. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if that idiot didn't pull United out of JFK.

Funny how the Ethiad & Emirates portion of my post didn't solicit any comment...

It sounds like United has nothing to worry about with regard to JetBlue’s Europe Aspirations, clearly there is no competition, so why would you wish ill will upon JetBlue pilots and encourage Delta to “bleed” them in BOS if JetBlue isn’t even a blip for United. You made a comment about JetBlue “management” with regard to Emirates and Etihad. Since when do pilots have any effect on management relationships/comments, regardless of the topic?

Again, you answered your own question. I don't wish ill will on the pilots. I think JB management needs to get spanked as they jump into bed with the ME3 willingly. If a JB pilots want to become a United pilot, I will welcome them with open arms and free beer for the first year...as a new hire.

No desire to be a United pilot, very happy with JetBlue and organic growth. Zero desire to merge with United or even SWA for that matter, but none of us pilots have any control over that “speculative/potential” that may never happen. In the meantime, during all this speculation you don’t see us mudslinging negative comments about United, so why the animosity in the other direction?
