I was CLE, displaced, EWR furloughed/displaced, back to CLE, IAH EWR, IAH, back to EWR, multiple displacements and one aircraft change after another, (not even mentioning my regional career). I’d never move anywhere for an airline, it’s a fools game. Just thankful I wasn’t hired on the legacy UAL side! Live where your happy to be!

So happy about my UAL rejection letter, was a blessing. Remember when UAL was the joke of the industry in the late 90s?

Yes, things were a tad bleak for a few years. A bit unlike other places which were bleak for decades. I don't blame you, for if I would have known how the seniority integration was going to play out, I would have applied to CAL after my first 8 years at UA!

Things sure sounded great at Cal...

Late 90's?.....I think you should review your history and revise that statement.

Late 90s were like watching your best pal marry someone he shouldn’t.. you see the impending implosion and warn people, but he does it anyway and it ends in divorce. Years later finding a new bride that actually fits, after years of losing weight and fixing the broken bank accounts. shes ugly and damaged, but then so was he.

In the late 90's and approaching 9/11 UAL was the 800 lb gorilla. Only problem was after 9/11, the dot com bust, SARS, and the desert dust up, food for the gorilla became quite scarce.

My only point is if anyone says in the 90's they could have predicted UAL's financial position by the fall of 2001 I'd be highly suspect.

Are we really going to hash out all of that LCAL/LUAL garbage again? I better go make some popcorn.

Nope. Its just some guy who knows he couldn’t get hired by UAL bragging about his SLI windfall again. We all know the real deal though.
