Never understood why anyone hates either... love India and the people. It’s nicer than New Jersey.

I could write a very long book on the subject.

The BOM trip is the best commuting trip in the industry.

I’d read that book. I’m probably in it.

I’ve got a chapter in that book about myself.

It takes three hours to drive across that dump. It’s not big enough to have “parts” let alone nice ones and yes I’ve lived there.

It’s the 16 hrs on the airplane and 3 days of sleep deprivation, combined with never actually landing or flying an airplane except every three months in the sim, to me it was miserable. I saw a friend headed to Mumbai the other day, me and my FO flew to RSW, had dinner and a beer poolside, and I slept in a comfy bed for 7 hrs before he even landed. Jersey isn’t bad outside of Newark itself but $20k in property taxes and a bunch of rude unfriendly people are enough to make me commute!

Yeah Delhi is great unless you like to breathe.

It’s 16 hours per leg, but you’re asleep for half of it. Some would rather doze for dollars than go up and down 3-4 times a day. To me, it’s about the most money for the least amount of work at this point. Flying a plane doesn’t even enter the mix. It’s better to be IRO on a productive 3 day than have a flying seat on a 20 hour 4 day. The catch is that I have no trouble sleeping on a plane. If you can’t, international flying will kill you. It’s great to be able bid what fits.
