I agree with what many have said . But unless there is a major storm it’s just slow right now . Yeah a few trips went out premium tonight EWR 320

But what I have seen a lot is it’s sitting there at 50 percent and here I am thinking I’m the only guy that’s gonna get it at 100, then bam it goes to a reserve at 50 via VDO, I’ve seen more of that this summer than the previous 2 years . Clearly they caught on to something this time around.

HI second year guy: I'm not referring to the fund-raiser candy bars that you need to pay for. I'm referring to the "energy food" that you call "granola bars". You know... the sugar-based candy bars (with some oats) that somehow made it in to Section 4. I have to wonder what we gave up to have that crap continually stocked in Ops.
WTF?

I’m pretty sure it was already in the L-UA contract, so probably didn’t give anything up.

This.

It probably dates from 1938 and neither the company nor the union can agree on the value and don't want to waste negotiations on fixing what it no longer a major issue, or even a minor one.

It's not dissimilar to how the company overlooked F class travel to recurrent training when gutting pilot F class travel (which was the norm at UAL for everything) during bankruptcy. Now it has survived multiple contacts in the interim.

Ive heard a lot of reasons for trips going at 50% and the most common is if they don’t take it at 50% then a senior guy will get it. Fair enough. I’ve often thought being in the top 15 in my BES maybe guys my similar seniority should just start taking all the 50% trips because if we don’t take 50% then the junior guys will get it! Maybe soon we can all race for straight time trips too.

Why? Because they just FBO’d me for 3 days, and I got no other plans for those days except to fly for 250% WB, and let them pay for Princess parking. Do the math.

For the curious, can you share the mechanics? How does the happen? Sounds epic.

If you are a player, or even a wannabe player, our system is vastly superior to Delta’s. Not even close.
