But the candy bars aren't free. As a 2nd year guy I still go for the free granola bars.

In the past 24hrs, I’ve lost out on waiting for a few trips to go from 50% to 100% and then when I said, **** It.. I’ll just take the next one at 50%, it got picked up at straight pay!
LOL
It’s a game. I get it. When people complain about someone else grabbing a trip I got to wonder why? We are hiring, don’t have anyone furloughed (involuntary) and haven’t hit that point where we need to “make a point”
It is what it is~
Oh, and last month I WAS lucky and got a few good deals. It’s all cyclic.
That is a good point and we would have to think as a group what we’re willing to give up for that. The company “likes” having the option to go from 0 to 50% and then 100% (if needed). Again, it’s an individual choice but I will say- If we had the Delta model of 100% or nothing, it would probably lower the pool of pilots getting the add pay while having a (slight) increase in labor cost.
I don’t mind the system we have currently.. except for the AMC/Military Charter pickup system. Think it’s asinine

It cuts both ways. A few weeks back while rolling out of bed in my pad a nice quick 1 day with only one 1 hr leg came open on two hrs notice. I would have skipped the DH back into base and gone straight home, and I would have been happy to do it at straight pay. There were no reserves so I held off picking it up in hopes of a 100% PPU. Joke was on me, a guy senior to me took it at 50%.

Amen Huggy. Put that in the Negotiators suggestion box before we started talks but I won't hold my breath. This Persian Rug trading system is ridiculous. 0% or 100%, no in-between.

I love the system we have. Some people value their time on a particular day differently. Some days straight time makes sense, some days 50 or 75 have their place. Always laugh at the guys passing up a 12 hour trip at 75 holding out for a 10 hour at 100. Pilot math.

Sh!t don't go to IAH. Them cowboys love st8 time pick up. Company knows it. No need to ever offer 50/75/100 in IAH. Trips are gone in 10 seconds st8 time. BAM
