I guess you see the struggle with this situation, your doomed however you look at it.

A POI that say's "If you let a UA pilot jumpseat will get you violated" is a document that can turn this whole thread from threats of destroying my career to something that unites the pilot group.
A POI that states, "We don't care what you do", leaves the whole certificate action up to very loose interpretation., Until then, we have zero information from the company as the email is expected to come tomorrow according to the last communiqué from SAPA. Until then, i am doing nothing, since it's still the a long time to the 15th...

The message put out by your leadership says they too will be denied jumpseats. Did you not read it?

The point I'm trying to make is during contract negotiations one main bargaining chip ALPA uses is telling its members to NOT pick up flying. Safe to say most pilots would comply. Why? Because it creates unity. This is no different.

Fortunately I only spent a few years under both the reverend and Heller before this place got palatable to work at. The company has actually started to care a little, but our codeshare partners have slowly started to erode our benefits and QOL perks. For instance when deadheading on Delta we are basic economy and only able to select seats in the way back. I was also denied early boarding deadheading on our own metal recently.

Yes, we are always going to be subcontractors, regional scum if you will. Ideally take all the flying back. Rip the bandaid off like you said- make it happen overnight and I’ll happily fly a 170 that doesn’t say express on the side. Obviously that’s just a pipe dream. At least in the meantime we have a union that will stand up for us and not just let the status quo be taken away like everything else.

Completely false. ALPA cannot say that. You need to read up on labor laws.

Funny thing is, many of us Union supporters over here at the Teamsters would be proud UALPA members. Unfortunately, I’ve heard discussions of keeping us out because we stood by our Brothers and Sisters. I sure hope that’s a small minority.

Working at regional under the same representation umbrella that represents mommy and daddy will do absolutely NO good for you. Go ahead, ask Piedmont, Envoy, PSA, XJT, etc. how good there QOL is? Ask them how good their contracts are compared to the ones without ALPA representation. Ask Envoy if their “union” backed up that flight crew that was recently fired for an FAA violation. Yes, move on! Make the effort to move on! No call from mainline yet? Trust me, it ain’t because your name was passed around. Have some damn pride in the company you currently work and support your peers who may be DIRECTLY affected negatively by this change.

I know exactly what you are saying and i agree with you that this an extremely difficult situation for many pilots.

1. You ignore Management/Union and could/could not face FAA action and also go against your peers
2. You deny the jumpseat, and act in a bad way to your fellow pilots at other companies trying to go home/work. And possibly facing career hardship.

All for something you as a SkyWest/Republic/Mesa PILOT had nothing to do with. You didn't start it, you didn't want to get involved in it, yet you are stuck with it.

I don't agree with how this situation escalated, i don't know who's lying. I don't have enough information to make that determination. But we are a pilot group should not act in retaliation.

I personally will not ask for a jumpseat on a UA/UAX flight until this is resolved. If i am forced to deny someone the jumpseat i don't deserve to get it. However... I WOULD NEVER threaten someone else to ruin their career. I would never turn in any names.
