Well he wanted to get in the jumpseat to "educate" the lowlife regional guy.
Um, no.

This is a case of a guy that couldn't get a non-rev seat because the flight was...wait for it....full. And the JS was previously the only option.

In this case he makes a single phone call to Galactic HQ and is given a seat. Meanwhile, a pax is voluntarily bumped ($$$).

Everybody wins.

Exactly why there will not be a UAL in my actual jumpseat. At this point you have become a distraction from me doing my job instead of a possible additional crew member who will help me out if the stuff hits the fan, or I miss a radio call.
Wrong. In this hypothetical situation the United pilot didn’t ask for a jumpseat with seats available in the back. He was told no by the captain and then United bumped a paying passenger or possibly a non rev employee of the operating regional to get the United pilot to base.

As far as your decision to take or deny, that is all on you.

Watching all this “rationalizing” is like watching a baby smoke a cigarette.

Since I no longer have DAL travel benefits, I have to JS or buy a ZED fare. In this case, I was denied the JS and had to purchase a ZED fare on a wide open flight. If I ask for flowback to the empty back, it's still using the JS privileges and you need to check in with the CA in which he stated management and the COO has told everyone via e-mail today that it's a violation against your certificate to carry us.
I feel your problem should be with United, and your jumpseat chair. Until we can go back to last week (or OAL), unfortunately it will be ZEDs or a two leg commute.

You are wrong about that. Neither the UALMEC, Skywest management, Republic management has promoted denying jumpseats. The majority of the Skywest and Republic Captains have continued to operate professionally and have NOT participated in this jumpseat war, and have NOT been punished by their managements.

This is a made up war. The only victims are the Skywest and Republic Captains who have been mislead and placed in a difficult position by sapa. My jumpseat remains available until the United MEC changes its position.

So United paid off a FIRST CLASS $$$$$ passenger for the commuting pilot instead of an economy class?.
As for listing for the jump in hopes of sliding into first without the ridiculous UAL fee, maybe UALPA should negotiate free upgrades to First class like Delta does.

Yep the decision is mine and I'll stand by it

My apologies for my response. And more importantly, for that CA who denied you. Most of us are outraged at how this is being handled and the vast majority of us aren't denying anyone. I hope this nonsense gets resolved quickly and I'm very sorry you were inconvenienced.

No, my issue is with Skywest and SAPA as they are the ones waging the jumpseat war based off false pretenses that it's a violation and could result in certificate action.

But don't worry, what goes around comes around.

Violation? Nobody said the issue is based off a violation, the issue is as United put it, lack of an agreement. You are welcome on my jumpseat when an agreement is reached.

They wouldn’t bump a first class passenger and you know that. They would first bump a non rev passenger who had priority in the cabin over the United pilot because the flight was on their metal, next they go to a coach passenger. From what I understand, this is actually helping many of us. We simply call the FODM and say that we are on a brand X flight and they positive space is to base. Getting home is a different story, however I doubt that it is that big of a problem. Not many people from any airline are saying no. I don’t even know if many of the ones here who say they are are really captains. The PDR data will tell who is, and who isn’t. I hope on the regional side that there is a similar process to report United pilots who are playing this stupid game as well.
