“..even though they are non-union” Lol! Like that makes a difference to United’s hiring department.

True, UA doesn’t care if new hires were previously union, neither do I. I added it because airlinepilot50 erroneously brought up ALPA and SkyWest as if they somehow mattered wrt who has been getting hired.

Huh? Stop throwing ALPA pilots in a hole they didn’t deserve? I never said anything about increasing safety at United. I think the regionals have a very high degree of safety and their training programs are good. You may be projecting here. The regional product quality is low due to the whipsaw effect and budget restrictions but this has nothing to do with the quality of regional pilots. I myself came from a regional where I spent 9 years. Like the rest of the UA pilots I fly with, I want to grow mainline and shrink the regionals as much as possible and get as many of our regional brothers here as soon as possible making mainline pay. The Aviate program is trying to accomplish this.

“It’s in the interest of myself and others denied jobs at mainline to expand scope so we can have a better quality of life. It’s unfortunate that ALPA mainline pilots do not do more to advance ALL ALPA regional pilots so we can be on the same team. I’m enjoying the new 175 and expect to see more coming our way. It’s a great airplane and fun to fly.“-airlinepilot50

So you want to expand scope to get more planes at your regional so that you can upgrade sooner? The time it will take you to get to a major will increase, not decrease. That would be about another 5 years of career stagnation at the regionals for every other regional pilot and yourself. Seems selfish and short sighted to me me.

“By the end of the year I will pull in 300K between flying and my business. I average 20 days off a month. My pilot skills and experience is more than what any United passenger deserves. Your profit sharing is what I make in a month.”-airlinepilot50

Ok, how about $5000 if you show me you are on track to make only 200k this year and an average of only 18 days off a month for the last 4 months.

Thanks! I just looked it up, I wasn't aware Skywest was the largest UAX regional.

If United can’t relax scope they’ll just be bankrupt quicker then the timeline they’re currently on. All legacies need they’re regional feed or they wouldn’t have them.

Have you looked at the earnings for the last several years? We're not going bankrupt. But even if we were, it would have zero to do with scope. You sound like you work in Willis.
