The American ceo is also indirectly explaining their huge debt obligations that are weighing them down. They went out and replaced a large portion of their fleet all at once. They do have more efficient planes but they are still under performing us and delta. They have 10B more debt than us and 15B more than delta.

All these musings are amusing.

When I arrive early, and have to wait for a gate in SFO, for an hour.....arguing about APU (for the next 10 legs,) fuel burn just seems silly....

Fuel efficient? Fuel per leg, ASMS??? Not the whole story.

Amen. It someone tells you it’s “stuffy in the back,” that means more than a few people think it just downright sucks. Keep it cold, let someone else worry about the “cost.”
