Choices: Jr WB reserve, or Jr 756 lineholder?

I’ve been thinking about that as well. I’m a commuter and just can’t handle the rolling short calls. So until I can hold a line...
Something else to consider; I know there is a lot of domestic flying on EWR 777, but does it make it down to reserve? I’ve seen, in other 756 bases, a domestic trip pop up and it’s gone immediately. If that’s the case are you ok with rarely sitting in right seat again? TK for landings? You’ll need a chisel to get the rust off. Although I also understand many FOs on 777 don’t want landings. Who knows.

With the exception of consolidation you can bank on 76 hours a month from the added sc and fsb. If you let them assign all of them and don’t care to have any control over your schedule you could get around 80 give or take. I pick them up half the time to pick my poison so to speak so 76 hours is like clock work. I will say I think you would get to the g line on the 777 quicker than on the nb left seat. This last bid has me at 90% already and the gline is at 88.5%. Lots of movement coming. It is not common to see reserves breaking guarantee from flying. At least since I’ve been on the airplane. So I wouldn’t count on that.

I noticed quite a change during the 1.5 years I spent on reserve on the 756. Went from commutable long call to multiple short calls to rolling or back-to-back short calls and then evening building of short calls. I don't know what it's like now. Sounds like the 777 is just as bad or worse.
Is this a status quo violation during contract negotiations? The nature and QOL on reserve has changed so dramatically. Is the company goading us to burn negotiating capital to improve reserve?

My PDRs about it, as well as those from my reserve peers get a polite, but canned dismissive response. Basically the company is staying within the language of the contract so we need to suck it up until some day when a new contract comes around. They are getting real good at stretching the contract to the breaking point. Not sure if it’s to prove a point or to get the absolute most they can out of us. One thing is for sure. It was never taken this far when I was on reserve 2-4 years ago.
