Just be sure to watch that pay register like a hawk if you choose to do this: a while ago I called in sick and later picked up a trip to make up the sick time (called in and specifically directed them to do this), then later in the month I picked up a SRM trip. When my pay register was finalized they had removed my 100% add pay because they said I used that later trip to make up my sick call and therefor add pay didn’t apply.
After my blood pressure stabilized I cooled down enough to write up a Help Hub inquiry explaining the situation and timeline. After that I wrote a similar letter to the union and just before I hit send I noticed (to my tremendous surprise) a HH response indicating that they agreed with my inquiry and were reversing the negative pay claim.
If I hadn’t noticed the charge, or hadn’t fought it, I’d have been out a couple thousand dollars.
