Pretty much guaranteed you could hold NB cap anywhere but maybe DEN or IAH. Possibly WB as well. High 50% 777 FO or god-tier NB FO! Best of luck.

Well, for you to stay away, then you must be making more than 300K salary and more than 50K added to retirement fund. If so, you are one of the very few corporate guys that is, and has a long-term secure corporate gig. Good luck.

I know one furloughed pilot that will be in the July class. So, that leaves 42 more questions...

That's quite the assumption, and one I would not make.

I am a double-forloughee that returned after being gone a long time. Originally, I wasn't sure I would return to UAL. I took an Exec Director job a few years ago to try my hand in the business world. I hoped it would be the dream job to satisfy a number of personal goals I had. The pay wasn't $300K, but some of the unique experiences I got to be involved in were simply priceless, like sitting across from Bob Hoover at a private dinner and talking to him for 90 minutes. I thought the long term potential of the job was tremendous (and it was).

As it turns out, it didn't end up being a career that I wanted after all... and I realized how good the United job I had on standby really was. So I came back.

It's not all about the money you can make "this year".

That's NOT an assumption. 89 hrs/mo gives you that. And at least 15 days off if not more for HIS seniority - a fact for "every year". And that's the whole point. It's not about you and what you did. He's doing a corporate flying gig, and debating on coming back.

The assumption was you assume all OP cares about is the money and retirement.

Wish you guys could've gotten the 10-year recall figured out before '07.

Hi Akdc10plt - this may not help your decision, but just to let you know a year ago I was wavering over returning to UAL after being out for 17 years. I’m a non mil guy, double furloughee, never came back in between the two furloughs. Spent the first 10 years of furlough jumping from one marginal corporate jet job to another (9 type ratings in 10 years!) until I found a very good corporate flying gig. Thought I was going to stay there until retirement but as my 10 years approached (Jan 2019) I felt that if I didn’t come back I would always regret it. So at the age of 60, and much anxiety I returned last July (was still on probation, haha) .... and I am so glad I did.

Pretty senior in the right seat of the 73, unable to be a WB line holder in my domicile, but absolutely no regrets. Pay wise I took a hit when I include the generous bonus that my previous company used to give me, but of course that bonus was not guaranteed, plus the 16% into the 401k helps offset that a bit.

I don’t want to talk you out of your corporate job and of course you might well have a way better gig than I did, but just some perspective from a fellow double furloughee .
